Executive Officer Needed
Albury Conservation Company (ACC) is about to embark on a new phase in its development and is looking to engage an Executive Officer for 12 hours/week to lead the organisation through this exciting phase.
Established in 2006, ACC is a small, community-based organisation that helps to conserve biodiversity in Albury Wodonga, Australia’s 20th largest city. Our vision is for Albury Wodonga to be recognised as a national leader in successfully balancing urbanisation with the protection of natural environments to enhance threatened species and their habitats.
ACC’s mission is to undertake ecological monitoring and research to inform on-ground conservation actions. ACC aims to attract and strategically invest funds, engage with community and collaborate with key stakeholders, building capacity in biodiversity management to support viable populations of local threatened species.
Albury Conservation Company is a not-for-profit registered charity with a strong history as a driver of local threatened species research and conservation. ACC has funded and delivered many un-precedented local conservation projects in partnership with funding bodies and philanthropic foundations, key stakeholders and local communities. In addition to the Albury Wodonga Threatened Species Monitoring Program (since 2018) and Albury Wodonga Nature Map citizen science platform (established in 2020), ACC has funded and facilitated threatened species research (e.g. Sloane’s Froglet, Squirrel Glider), delivered innovative conservation initiatives (e.g. Hollow-bearing tree mapping project, Thurgoona Men’s Shed Nest box Program) and pro-actively engaged and shared information with key audiences.
The company is currently concluding the development of a Blueprint for integrating nature conservation with urban development in conjunction with key partners.
Applications close Friday 13th June 2025.
